on a manual? use gear oil. When i installed my short shifter I used some Bel Ray gear oil I had lying around for motorcycles. I kinda filled it up then worked the shifter a few times and it went down to about half way. Shifter sure was smoother though. Is that thing actually supposed to be full of oil?
