Shift Up light in 5th gear
Shift Up light in 5th gear
Im just curious about this. My FC's "shift up" light comes on even in 5th gear. Is this normal, or is this because they changed the transmission on it years ago and something messed with the sensor?
Not normal in 5th:

88 mph.
No, but seriously, you don't have to be red lining it for it to come one. Comes on wile cruising freeway speeds. I get it, I know it's for better fuel mileage and what not, but my question is why does it come on in 5th gear? It's just dumb programming that doesn't know that you're in your final gear?

SHIFT UP light triggered in 5th gear?
Your 5th gear / reverse switch is disconnected or dead.
I thought it was funny...
Redline in 5th would be scooting along pretty good.
Check out your 5th gear switch that's attached to the back of your trans, and then check continuity to it. Make sure your connectors aren't corroded and full of road grime, etc, etc...
