Shift Lever Ground?

Is the shift lever a ground? If not, where's a good place to find a ground while testing things in the car (currently working around the logicon and blower motor area)?

I wouldn't count on it, it floats on some nylon bushings if I recall! If you can see any bolts on the chassis (since you probably have something out) those tend to be good, but you have to test them to make sure. I think you can also lift the shift boot surround up (be careful not to snap it) and expose some bolts to the chassis.

How do I test if it's a ground or not? Yes... I'm an electrical newb.

I just want my air cond./heater to work.
