Gold? Titanium? Unobtainium? Sheesh, 175$ for a rebuilt caliper (cheaper slightly from Mazdatrix), plus an 80$ core!

Fortunately, rebuilt 4 piston fronts were only 79/each +50 core..

Oh well, the rebuild kits from Mazdatrix went in smoothly, glad search turned up the tool to buy to use to retract them, my needlenose gave up trying to turn those pistons..

If you think that's bad, try the front 4-pistons for an 89-91 T2. I had to replace my RF one last October due to a stuck piston. I too decided to buy from Mazdatrix. Price one from a dealer just for ***** and giggles. It may make you feel better about your purchase! ---Jeremy

If you can believe it, it's due to the stupid twisting brake piston insert...

I got a price of $425 each for front calipers (new) for my '87 TII. I hope they come loaded with pads for that price. LOL

You guys are completely omitting a very important tool for car parts. Ebay. Usually, if there arent very many bids, contact the seller and tell them that you'll buy the items right away if he ends the auctions early, and give him a price that you want to pay. try it out. most sellers are happy to do it.

If your caliper is just leaking (or dust boot is torn, etc), you can get a "Seal Kit" for the rears from Mazda for $25 and rebuild them yourself. Its fairly easy to do, just a little time consuming.

Is there another reason why you are trying to replace them? Are they damaged, or is the cylinder too pitted to hone or something?

Yeah, how many of you are willing to spend that kinda money for a set?&nbsp You realize it's a $2,800 price tag for these things? Paul Ko @ K2RD has been doing some pretty good design and engineering with the Wilwood brake kits - they are good enough for most applications (street).&nbsp If you want a BIG brake kit, he does offer a 6-pot Wilwood kit that is based on the Wilwood Superlite-6 caliper that's about $1,000 CHEAPER than the Mov-It brakes.&nbsp Tim Spenser tims is running these things on his Super Unlimited FC Turbo II in Nasa Pro Racing - last time I heard, he was pretty happy.&nbsp Maybe tims can chime in here...
