Sexy style hood and TMIC?

I'm picking up a sexy style vent hood but don't have a truck. I was wondering if any one knows the fitment of it and whether I'd be able to sneak my TMIC under the hood to get it home?

Ehhh...your air intake temps will be super high...so I wouldn't boost at all if I were you. Plus, the hood may not fit with the TMIC on the car.

I've shoehorned a hood in the trunk of my FC in the past. You just gotta make sure to use bungee cords to keep the trunk down as far as possible and the hood secured.

I think I'm going to try find some one with a truck.

I may do a bit of testing with my cf TII hood to see if the hatch on my S13 or FC will hold it some how.

Maybe I've been gone too long, but what the hell is a sexy style hood?

Edit: Ah, found it searching. Amazing the number of results that'll bring up! Vague naming ftw!
Double Edit: From the pictures it looks like the vents wouldn't be near the IC, you'll be trapping all the heat on the IC. The original TII hood was worthless for taking air in, but worked well as a vent! I'd say you'd probably be alright as long as theres not a clearance issue.

yeah, that's my issue.

I have some home depot piping I can use to replace the IC BUT it's a long highway drive and intake temps would soar with no ic at all.

Unless you're boosting your intake temps really wouldn't be much higher using PVC than your intakes are going to soak on their own just from the engine. The IC would soak a bit quicker due to its design, but still just cruising I can't imagine you'd have an issue.

i ran a na bonnett with a top mount for a while... doesnt hit..

if your really worried about it hitting chuck some washers between the mount and the bonnett when you chuck it on.. that will raise the back up some more.

sure its not the best set-up for performance but, it does work.

Got the hood. I'm in the process of a FMIC swap but I'll post in a day or two the fitment with the TMIC just so others know.

Just painted them black

Initial install looks promising for having the TMIC still on.

I'm in the middle of a NPR front mount swap so it's not true fitment yet.
The sides of the hood are higher than the body line so it may be getting hung up a bit on my strut bar. I'll take it off to see if it sits lower.

You can see the Efini strut bar barely touching the vent.

Argh.

The hood won't latch. I read a thread which said to swap out the spring to a softer one. I've got a NA chassis which had a steel hood so I must have a hard spring.

Anyone have a clue whgat to look for whern buying a "softer spring"

I went to Home Depot and looked for some springs. Ended up buying a spring assortment there and got one to work.
