severe stuttering above 3000 rpm

so i let the revs drop, tread back in then it'll rev up fine. Dont know what exact revs, but is it possible ive disconnected a vaccum pipe that'll cause this problem? or is it likely to be fuel starvation (it happens whilst flooring it). Its a 13b engine...

Also it bangs loudly on overun; the timing looks good. It has no cat and a short exhaust (about half the length of standard) with a bike exhaust can on it. Is it likely to be a hole in the exhaust?

Cheers

I am experiencing a similar problem right now... My car has been driving fine ever since the PD fire and removal; however, yesterday it starts stuttering above 2500rpm in different spots--only when car is fully warm? Does anyone know what could be the cause? I think it is a ground, but are there any more things i should check out as well...

Could be vacuum leaks, faulty sensors (water thermo/TPS/etc), bad plugs, lack of proper fuel pressure (either due to a plugged filter, poor voltage at the pump, etc). Could be a lot of things!

Damn... does the fact that it only stutters when the car is fully warm take anything off the list?

It'd lean me towards water thermosensor, but still it's hard to tell, heat can affect a lot of things differently.
