Setting TPS on s5 tII

I've heard conflicting stories of needing to remove the intercooler, is this true?

Thanks

Factory service manual says not to adjust the TPS. Then two sentences lower, it provides instructions on how to adjust the tps. WTF??? is there a reason why it shouldn't be adjusted?
Thanks

No, you can adjust it. Just ignore whatever it says. Make sure the car is fully warmed up before adjusting it if you are using the LED method.

If you are going to OHM it out, you can do it while its cold.
