Setting "back-lash" - Whats involved?
Hey,
I posted this is the Race forum, but there is just not much traffic there, so here it is -
Im swapping a torsen into my FC, and I was wondering what is involved in setting Bank-lash? I know this should be done by a professional, and I am planning to have a pro do the work, but I want to know exactly whats involved so that I am not getting ripped off.
I spoke to one guy at a 4x4 shop (the shop was awsome) and he said that the job should take about 3 hrs, if I bring him the pumpkin out of the car, but still sealed up. He actually said that he does not want me to open it up, or remove the old diferential...I guess this will help is setting the lash?
Anyways...any help and insight would be appreciated from any of you guys who have done this sort of thing before.
Thanks,
-a

This isnt for a rex, but you can get an idea of whats going on.

You can do it yourself, as long as you take your time, measure everything perfectly, and use the fsm. But if you have any doubts in your mechanical abilities by all means, go to professional.
