Series V intake....

Dave, from fc3s.org told me, that I can swap a series IV intake to a series V intake and that would gain some hp..... But I want to know if anyone has every used a 3rd gen intake on a 2nd gen before????

yea, alfred/soul assassin has it done. though, hes in japan and they customized the lower manifold for it to seal perfectly.

over here though, the people ive seen use an adapter plate. also increasing the height of it a bit. boostd7 has this done? or is having this done? i talked to him before about.

we also brought this thread up before, but it didn't get that much attention. hopefully it will this time, cause i plan on doing this myself....the non-adapter way

You just have to port match the 3rd gen upper manifold to your lower.

but do they studs on the lower manifold line up to the holes on the 3rd gen? i thought that was the reason for the adapter plate people talk about using?

You can just round out the holes on the FD intake & the studs match up from the FC lower intake...

You just make the holes a little bigger... Match them up...

here is a pick of mine.. You can only see 1 hole though....

hmm, interesting. so just bore slightly bigger holes on the fd manifold? and that's it? did you have to port match the intake runners or anything? and was the fc lower manifold just left alone?

also what did you do with the vacuum lines? if i remember right there is about 3 that connect in the back of the fc manifold and 3 in the front.

any other parts needed? i thought you needed a speedo cable off a fd as well?

Yes, you also want to port match the intake runners...

As for vacuum lines, use the ones you need & plug the others..

I don't have to worry about throttle cable because i am putting this in a 1st gen....
