look on the hot side

if S5,both runners will have same size
if S4, a runner will have a different size

on the compressor size I dont know...

EDIT : I'm such a dumbass... look at the wastegate! S4 wastegate will have a single setup, S5 have a kinda dual setup

id check, the gauge cluster, front bumper, and maybe under the hood check the radiator. i believe S5s had a cap system on the radiator and S4s had a fill cap on the thermo housing.
Sorry im bad at describing stuff, but you could always just run the VIN
try searching for pics of S5 front bumpers to get you an Idea
and the gauge cluster of an S5.
Maybe someone can get you a pic, i have no camera

Are you asking if the engine is S5 or the car itself? The car...check the sticker in the door frame for the year or the round tailights or body colored body molding. Engine...I dunno, probably what he said to do.^^^

nah i know all that stuff, its just a turbo, no car, sitting there waiting to be sold, so if i look at the rear housing there will be 2 flaps for the wastegate instead of 1?

You have to take off the rear cover for the exahsut manifold in order to see the wastegates. You need the s5 exahust manifold also. The s4 has a flapper door in it for the twin scrool setup, the s5 manifold has no flapper and is divided.

Actually you dont reall y need to take off the rear seal. The wg design/shape is totally different.

Here is a pic of an s5

Here is a pic of an s4

You can see clearly how different and larger the s5 one is. Hope that helped.
