Exclamation Series 4/5 13BT Engine Rebuild Write-up

Well, for those of you that have seen the start if the Series 4 13BT engine rebuild on our site, we are sorry to say that it is being scrubbed. The housings on the engine are basicly just totally thrashed, and from the pictures I would assume that most if not all of you would agree.

The good news is, the Project 86 just had another motor installed last weekend because we blew the original TII motor we had installed back in December '00. Well, after taking out the old, installing the new, and then looking over the old, we have determined that on our first inspection, we didn't notice that we had a stuck apex seal in the rear rotor. We had thought that we either blew an apex or side seal during our last outting to the track. Well, with just a stuck seal and an otherwise good motor, we should be able to rebuild this one in a pretty quick amount of time. The tear down and documentation of this engine will begin in 2 weekend from now (Oct 13th) We expect completion by no later than Christmas. Remember that we have other things going on with the site so we can't just rebuild it in a weekend due to the cost of the parts we still need to do any rebuild. If anyone wants to donate some parts to it feel free We will be doing a full port job on this motor, including a LARGE streetport if not Bridgeport. That part is TBD

We have it on a good source that our site is mentioned in the Nov issue of Sport Compact Car, and if this is indeed true, then we might have the publicity we need to get some sponsors and to move faster with the rebuild Stay tuned for more details.

i have some street ported and lapped side housings for a 86 na. if you want em, just pay shipping. i tried to sell them, but no one wanted. i would rather see a peice of my work go in a running car, rather sit in my utility van for years. cpack@home.com
