Seized front bearing rebuild or am i beating a dead horse???
i had a rebuild done on my t2 .. the car ran for about 1 minute before it shut it self off. well all in all the front bearing is siezed to the e-shaft. Now i was going to attemp to rebuild it myself. but im starting to wonder if its worth it. ive found another t2 engine for like 800 bucks( junkyard and not really what i want) and or used what i can from this engine and rebuild it. Or call up rotaryworks and get a fresh rebuild from them. i attemped to remove the outer ring that locks onto the front housing. tried prying, hitting it with a mallet and plastic hammer. so im a bit stumped. i know that if i do rebuild im gonna need a new e-shaft and front bearing as well as a rear ,, not sure yet ,, havent gotten that far.. im just hoping someone might have an idea on how to get that peice off . or if i should even bother and scrap the whole engine. whats sad is that the engine only had 63k on when a freeze plug broke . i need some advice

Ouch....At least you didn't drive the car, so damage may be contained.
You will likely need several people on pry bars to remove the front stationary gear. Be careful not to crack the front iron around the flange. But it SHOULD eventually come out, it just may take some persuasion.
Now, likely you will need a new front stationary gear, bearing and e-shaft. Assuming shavings have not gone through the rest of the engine, everything else might still be OK. But the only way to know is to pull it apart. And needless to say, after an incident like this, you need to have the oil cooler flushed as well.

Took three of us on pry bars and a torch to disassemble.
