i heard recently that the secondary injection system works off the air pump. i was curious as to if this was true and if so if anyone knew a way to remove the air pump but yet still keep the secondary injection working on the vehicle.

 

secondarys run off exhuast back pressure or electronically depending on the year...someone correct me if i am wrong

 

^yea im pretty sure your right.

s4's run off the backpressure the main cat builds.
s5's i believe are electrical, but being as i have an s4 i dont no as much on the s5s.

the puropse of any air pump is simply to supply fresh air to the cat so it can keep doing its job properly, a cat is alot like a furnace.....every fire needs air

regardless, there have been multiple writeups of multiple ways this was done...i do also believe that its in the archives......for future reference, please try searching.....im 10000% positive you will find dozens and dozens of threads pertaining to this question

S5's use airpump to open secondaries.

 

secondary injectors dont work off you air pump or backpressure your ecu tells the injectors when they open...if your talking about the 6pi (6 port induction)
it either runs of your air pump or backpressure if it is a s4 then it backpressure s5 uses the airpump acv and the ecu to work.you kinda had a mixture of both the secondary injectors and the 6pi so i told you both.
