Seatbelts at Mazda- help needed

I have a 1991 RX-7 with the retractable seatbelt catch. I bought the car from the states and brought it into canada. I had called the dealer to get it done and they said it can't be done because it came from the US, is this true. If so what should I do?

Thanks in advance,
Adam

Don't have clue...that's what you get for moving to the great white north. No but seriously call the "National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's Auto Safety hotline" at 1-888-327-4236. They should be able to put you in touch with someone north of the border. It is Recall Campaign number: 96V173000.

Hope this helps.

Canadian S5's never came equipped with autobelts so it may be true. Try contacting mazda north america and they may be able to tell you for sure.

Sounds like your between a rock and a hard place with this one. You may have to pay a dealer to do the repair. As ilike suggests, your best be might be to contact MNAO (800-222-5500) and ask for their assistance in arranging the repair at a US dealership.
