searched* headlight motor is not working ! please help

hey everyone,

need some help. s4 vert with t2 drivetrain. the driverside headlight motor stopped working after it got in a crash. i went to manual turn it up and i noticed the solenoid was not spinning. so, figureing that was the problem, i swapped it out with one that spun freely. no response still. the passenger works fine but the driverside doesnt work at all.

is there a fuse or something in the electrical system that i could check to see if its getting any juice please?

thanks
steve

I would start looking for a short in the sub-harness that the motors are in. More than likely the motor got jammed in the crash and may or may not have shorted some of the wires out.

I can't remember off the top of my head but if both side's plugs are the same try pluging in the 'new' motor into the one side that does work, to eliminate the chance of having a dead replacement.

alright, thanks

i did notice however that the new motor assembly had the circle plug like the old one, but it also had another connector spliced into the wiring...could this be a s5?

Early 86-87 cars have Retract relays. One for each headlight assy. See: https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...adlight+relays
