seals gone??
ok i just got this 87 turbo II. it had been sittin for about 4 months the guy said. and that he thinks the oil seals might be going. what happens when they totally go. and what color smoke is oil seals? also what is the best way to treat them without rebuilding it. i started it up today and took it down the road for a sec and it didnt smoke during idle but under full throttle it did. i think mostly when i let the gas back out. would atf, water or anything help this?? could some of the smoke be caused by it sittin so long?? thanks

Oil seals? Try your Turbo Bearings.
Are you running it?
Has it had an Oil change Recently?
Are you geting Oil only on Boost or backing off boost?
Check there is no oil coming out of the BOV? or in the Boost pipes? this is a clasic sign of dieing turbo.

There are lots of things to check before u rebuild the engine.
I've done lots of rebuilds now and i've never seen a Oil control ring gone?
I'd be looking at colour of the smoke Blue is oil, Black is Rich or not been thrashed for a while, white is Water.
If its Blue then check things like Turbo (as they are prone to go) then ,Oil condition and type,Breathers and all the little things before Oil control rings.
