No the SE is the model with the smallest wheels I beleive. and does not have four piston calipers up front.
it also comes with an aero package that lowers the drag coefficient.

I forgot it is also supposed to be one of the lighter FC's. I think it was called "the track ready RX-7".

The SE was an 87-88 base model with 14" 4-lug wheels and standard brakes.

The Sport was the non-turbo performance version of the RX-7 from 86-87. It came with sport tuned suspension, 15" 5-lug alloy wheels (like the GXL), larger brakes (same size as the GXL and TII), and was the only 86-87 model to come with an aero kit and spoiler. In order to save weight, the Sport did not come with many of the luxury items found on the GXL model.

It was the same concept, but the Sport was more unique because it was the only FC to ever have the aero kit. In 88, the Sport was replaced with the GTU performance model, which didn't have the aero kit. I think the 88 GTU is closer to being the "early version" of the GTUs, or at least it's the "missing link" between the Sport and GTUs models.

I know this is off the subject, but i have heard that if there is a yellow tag on the fill plug on your diff, then that means that you have a lsd. I have an 88 SE that has lsd, why? I was under the impression that none came with them, SE's that is, and it certainly does not look like anyone added it on.
