SE rear end vs TII rear end?

ok, as some of you may know, i just finished up my car which included a 5 lug convert on my 87 SE.... now i went for a drive on my curvey road tonight, and was noticing that the TII differential is.. well.. is performing a lot worse than i had anticipated.. i had trouble keeping traction the whole time i was driving, now keep in mind the roads were a bit wet with rain from earlier in the day, but in the past ive run my car in pouring down rain and had less trouble..
i had trouble keeping traction to about 60mph in 2nd.. im pretty experienced at driving so it's not an error on my part, totally normal accel rate, not floored at all.. the traction caught when the speedo read 65, then it dropped to about 55-60.. i know this isnt normal, my tires are 8" wide, with 90% tread left, could the problem be a faulty differential?

*almost hit a tree sliding off the road*

i just did a turbo 2 transmission, act street and strip clutch, act 12 pound steel flywheel, driveshaft, rear end, and 5 lug conversion to my 1986 base model. i haven't expierenced any problems with my setup, but then again i don't get on curvy roads in wet weather doing 60mph. the clutch packs in the differential could be worn out, making it act like a open diff--jeremie

60mph?!!

Isnt that 100km/hr?
thats pretty much above stock redline RPM in 2nd gear?!!! I would call that an error on your part. Provided my maths isn't horribly wrong.

In the wet I have trouble keeping my car in a straight line at 40 KM/hr in 2nd gear @ WOT?! and i've got rather decent 215's on the back of it.

But you know, the right foot is the best control of tractability you could ever hope for.

it's not past redline, it's right at it... it was more or less a 'how long am i not going to have traction' test... trust me it had nothing to do with me giving to much gas, i was more or less letting off and applying over and over, sorta testing it, i would let of for a while... then slowly push back down, and it would lose traction in high rpms everytime.... and i have yet to port my intake or any of that... wondering how bad this problem is gonna get before i do any more performance related mods to this thing

im not joking. when ur 7 has a limitedslip BOTHWHEELS are turning at the same speed, well one spins just a little faster, just a little. it makes it very easy 4 it to spin out, thats why ur on the verge of spinnin out. try doing donuts ull love'em. with only one wheel spinnin it makes them more stable. PLEASE b carefull ur not use to it yet, u might crash. keep ur 7 out of the junkyard and u out of the hospital. later

Well ****, give me the TII diff haha. Really, how could you not like Limited Slip. Your also in the rain! Your shitty open diff doesnt even compair. You'll like the traction on dry ground.

the traction is the bomb in slippery conditions as long as u4 midrange rpm's going 4 speed, and not tach'd out tring not to drift

Yes- esp. 5th gear. The n/a tranny in my 88 vert was WAYYYY tall. Now I can actually go 60mph and not lug the engine at ~2500 rpm with the S5 turbo trans I am running now.
