screw on the top of n/a intake manifold?

screw on the top of n/a intake manifold?

theres a screw on top of the n/a intake manifold right in the center. it seems to adjust the idle but not for sure. what is it?

It does, but DO NOT touch it. If your car idles okay, don't ever touch it, or it will never idle right again (ask me how I know).

It's not that scary. Adjusting the TPS can be, lol, but not the bypass screw. As long as you jump the initial set coupler, it will simply raise or lower idle.

well curiosity killed the cat. AND ME. i actually turned it before i posted this and it was idling rough adjusted my safc now my idle is at 900rpm steady. what effects will this have?

Nothing. I set my idle to 850-900 intentionally. If anything, it can be good since the engine won't practically die if you put a load on it from A/C, P/S, electrical, etc...

damn 850-900. im curious, correct me if im wrong but, won't that make it run lean and overheat at idle?

Uh, no.

The ECU and variable resistor adjust mixture.

And overheat? The clutch fan spins faster when the engine spins faster.

lol too late i touched it haha now my car doesnt idle right... im trying to adjust it but what do you guys think is the ideal idle ??

ive looked all over and can any one point me to somewhere that shows me how to adjust idle. I want mine to idle about 900-1000rpm because right now its at 750 and bounces because of stereo stuff and heat and all that fun stuff

On the arm attached to the throttle plates, right in front. It contacts the plunger on the TPS.

Read up on the threads here or you WILL screw up the TPS adjustment and fail will ensue. The FSM is alright but won't cover mistakes that occur that I and others have written about.
