Sat for a month wont run

i got a 86 n/a
all stock except for the air filter
put new brakes on, hadnt run in about a month
starts up nice now, and then quits, no matter how much i gas i give it
anyone kno what this could be?
if i didnt put enough info in let me
and i already tried searching, all i found was the classified stuff

Sounds like your AFM went south. Check/clean the plug to your AFM located under your air filter. You can also jumper the fuel pump test connector and see if that gets you running. This is a yellow connector located by the passenger strut tower. You jumper it, and it bypasses the AFM interlock.

how much does an afm cost? ballpark

there is no alternative unless you go with an aftermarket ECU, itd be much cheaper jsut tp check the for sale section and find someone who is parting out a car.

Assuming the new air filter is a cone, check the mounting position of the afm, ( it needs to be level in both axis), and check the plug in at the afm.

New AFMS run in the thousands, its ******* rediculous considering its just really a finely calibrated resistor.
These units are not known to go bad, im sure they have, but its rare from what I've seen. If you do look for a used one, make sure that you get one for the same year car and the same type (NA/TII).

You may have pulled a vaccum line. It would have to me a major one, but the same thing happened to me last night. Just an idea...
