Safe Temps??
what are safe temps to be running at? ive got a stock gauge that never goes above half, a water temp, and oil temp. all my gauges read in celcius and its all greek to me. if im running the car hard, at what temp should i stop? i noticed that for daily driving the temps pretty much stay the same but once i start boosting they start to climb really fast. last time i did a few laps at the track the belts started squealing like there was no tommorow. dont know if that had anything to do with the temps either. once i let the car cool for a few minutes it drove home fine.
normal water temps should be around 180-210F. oil from 160-190F
MAX would be around 240F water, and 210 oil. that is getting to "oh ****".
160F=71C
180 = 82
190=88
210 = 99
240 = 115

Converting Farenheit to Celcius
ie. 350F to Celcius
=5/9 [(F) - 32]
=5/9 [350 - 32]
=5/9 x 318
=177C
Converting Celcius to Farhenheit
Use this equation In alternate form
(F)=5/9t (C) + 32]
