I believe the only two models of the first S-AFC are the regular one and the one for V-tec

yes but there are now 3 versions of the afc

first one is "afc" old stay away
2nd is "s-afc" blue screen. couple years old. works great.
3rd is "s-afc II" few months old haven't seen one in a 2nd gen. few more features. I'm sure it works great too.

each one will go in any car.

why couldn't you use the vafc? It's just a safc that has the ability to set the vtec activation points on honda/acura cars.

it does nothing except put power to something at a certain RPM, right? so you could use it for anything, not just VTEC. Nitrous switch/shift light/whatever

bingo. Key is I think the highest rpm it will allow vtec activation is maybe 6500 or so.

The problem with using it to activate a nitrous switch is it wouldnt turn off at x rpm like a window switch. Over rev the motor on a mis shift, boom.

The problem with the VTEC AFC is it only supports the Honda MAP sensors - it WILL NOT WORK on an FC. You can't physically select the FC's airflow meter.

Hey dude i got one on ebay for a great price. I paid 230 for it it was slightly used like the dude put the bracket on and thats it no wiring at all. A good price for these is between 200-250 and the new ones go for 350. THis is for the S-AFC. The new one is going to be a lot more and you dont really need it. Also keep in mind there are tons of pp that have these on this forum so if you get the S-AFC (not the S-AFCII) youll get lots of support. But dont pay more than you have too!!

Why is everyone dissing on the **** S-AFCs? They seem to be alright, just like the fancy LCD display AFC with just raw turn the **** to tune type of attitude. Oh well, maybe im cheap.
