SAFC I or II?

I know the II is better, but if i'm on a really tight budget, is it REALLY worth it to spend the money and get the II? I mean I could pull it off but getting a I would make things a lot easier as far as furthur mods. What are the major advantages of the 2nd version, and is it really worth the extra money if i'm on a tight budget?

There are 2 different types of S-AFCII. The newest one works at every 200RPM and has the jog dial and the control stick. The other has buttons.

For a first timer, look at spending an hour or more on the install. Its kind of a pain pulling back the carpet padding tho. Its pretty straight foreward tho.
