Does anyone run a SAFC with my similar setup? What are your settings. I think the best thing would be to start there and a little rich and then tune it down till I can get it to the dyno. I need some numbers from a similar setup. especially injector sizes. w/o sizes numbers mean nothing.

I have the SAFC installed on my '90 GXL N/A. I have had it some time and I have tried many settings from mild to wild. All the while I have not seen any changes in my A/F meters (one analog one digital). Could I have one of the "defective" units that were mentioned?

Thanks.

i'm think i may as well have a defective unit, i've gone back and trippled check my work, but the S-AFC still is reading the wrong RPM, if I'm at 2.5k the AFC think I'm up around 4k. I think I read a post were some one elses was doning this, is it common?

Angry safc.....damn this thing is difficult!!!!

i have had mine hooked up for a few months now. it shows rpms, correction, throttle fine. i have tried mild adjustments up until now. i had it like 5% rich across the board and did a couple of runs.

i ran a 1st gen 12a and it kepted up, i only beat it by a car or so.
i ran a 1st gen 12a with a street port and beat it by a fender but that was my fault i raised the fuel some and the power took me by surprise, i lost control and almost hit the other car.
i aslo ran an integra (1.8, header and intake). i pulled on him and beat him by about 1 1/2 cars. but the 12a 1st gen i raced first beat the same car too and this 12a is beat the **** up.

so now im raising the fuel substantially. i was at rx7.com and i used the fuel calculator. according to them the stock ecu runs the injectors at about 62% duty cycle, no more. so if you raise the safc, say 20% your still under the 85% max duty cycle they recommend.

i got mine set like 10% thru 19% from 1000rpm to 8000rpm.

i havent really been able to run it hard yet. i only adjusted the hi map which is set at 99.

hey

Hey tommy and ridgetec... I show the wrong rpm too. I think that was my thread u read a wile ago. I posted it everywere. It also shows wrong throtle. And I triple checked everything... If thiers someone who did it right u need to show us pics because i didnt have the original instructions... I downloaded it from apexi and soldered my connections. I have a 89GXL.

Sysmptoms were sputering when cold and jerking somtimes like fuel cut off.

I have a feeling that it might either be connections or something in our cars isnt tuned right. Like tps exc. When I took it off it ran fine.

Mine also shows wrong throttle and I was wondering why that might be? It usually reads around 18% throttle at idle. My rpm's are right on, so could my tps or something be misadjusted?

i used the AFC to adjust my TSP, I got it down to right around 1v. that gave me a reading of 0 on the throte % that fixed that, but it still say wrong RPM. If I get a chance I'm going to try and call Apex'i of america maybe they have a tech line or something. if anyone else beats me to it, post what you here. Chris

I was thinking of using it to test my tps also. You took the reading off of the sensor menu right? Bottom line that says throttle? Just making sure. Right now, mine reads around 1.5v.

I don't have the unit right in front of me so I can't tell you just how I did it. There is a sensor check option that is were you can see your voltage, then if you go in to montior you can see your throtle usage %
