a sad story, but a dang good find!

so i have a buddy that has a freind at work that is selling a T2 car for $100. motor, turbo, tranny, dshaft, and rear end all there, but motor blew out rear apex seal. the sad part of the story is that after the motor blew, a few years ago they used it as a "shooting car" or "take your anger out on this car" car... so basically its all shot up to hell with bullet holes all in it, axe marks and holes all in it, windshield and glass all busted out, no hood (and im worried about the motor, harness and turbo being weather damaged, as i have not seen it yet, working too much) anyway.. $100 is worth it at least for just the drivetrain... and theres a local X-mazda mechanic that claims he can rebuild it for $250, but ide reather send it off to rotaryress. or some other place and get it ported and all, anyway.. im about to call the guy and get directions so i can look at it this weekend and hopefully get my swap on!

Imagine some larger calibers in thta engine block, LOL that would ****** suck. But like you said the drivetrain is worth the $100 and most likely undamaged.

all that stuff i already have... my interior is out of an s5 and i had the radio surround and gauge bezel re sprayed black, only thing i need is front carpet. and im planning on getting that out of victoria brittish. after i get the drivetrain out im probly gonna take it to the local iron yard and have it crushed and scrapped. dont get mad at me cuz from what the guy said he shot it up with his rifle and took an axe to the body and the windows. for what reason i dont know

It's a "one rotor", rear shot.

My 87 NA that had perfect compresion and died two weeks later ended up at the range. Its probably got 10,000 rounds in it now. The .50 BMG really tears up the block.

You do realize that most rifles will have no problem doing serious damage to that block right?

Wouldn't want to buy that turbo either... and if there are as many bullet holes as you say... I'd even start to doubt the drivetrain... few ricochets could have put some structure damaging nicks in it...

But I'm sure a few things survived... the harness should have been mostly protected unless a lucky shot went through it.
