I sold my GXL a few days ago, some younger kid in my hometown bought it. I went home today to go to the dentist, and I saw my car driving through town..........with an aluminum wing that must have been bolted directly onto the hatch, and chrome wheels. The kid took the beautiful Konigs off of it and put disgusting chrome wheels on it. I actually did shed a tear for a minute, thinking about how he is probably going to blow the car up in a week or 2. I guess it will be able to rest in peace if that happens though. Damn, I feel like I cheated on my girlfriend or something.

Heh kinda makes me wonder how many punks on here sit silently reading knowing if they make as much as a peep they will be exiled. Well.. either way to that I'd say all the better. Then again those that believe that nasty wing creates such wonderful performance really wouldn't have much place on a performance or any other type of car technical website. Poor car

My condolences- the questionnaire is a good idea-
1. Do you plan to garage the car?
2. What vehicles do you currently own?
3. Do you plan to customize the vehicle?
4. If so, please list mods (to be approved beforehand)
5. Would you be willing to submit to visitation rights?
6. Have you ever owned a Honda?
7. If yes, what the f*#@ were you thinking?

Go use one of the "extra keys" you never give the new owner (c'mon admit it.. you paid a buck a pop for those suckers and you never give them all with the car) and go take the car back. Leave a note where it was parked stating "the rotary gods have revoked your ownership permission. go buy a honda."

Unfortunately it is THE NEW OWNERS car now and he does have the right to "modify" it anyway he damn well pleases. If you feel so strongly about the car: Why in the hell did you ever sell it?
I personally like my cars stock appearing, so I do it. If HOJOHOMINYGRITZ wants to install the APC catalog it is his car and can do what he pleases. Will I help this individual? Probably not, Will I publically ridicule him? Probably not. What I will feel is the knowledge that my car is now worth more with another APC Equipped vehicle on the street

Do what I do. Get a pumpkin, carve a face, attach a note to it with a knife that says, "You! Change rims, Remove wing!" written in blood. I'm sure he will like the joke too.

I don't think it's that he regrets selling it. He regrets that it was sold to that kid. I've been thinking about selling my beater Probe GL that's supposed to be my daily driver, yet has been seriously neglected due to my FC. I doubt I will sell it because I could probably only get about $500 for it and besides, it's a car, and you can never have too many cars/parts. But if I did sell it, and I wound up selling it to a kid who would turn it into an offensive ricemobile, I would be very sad. I mean, I don't have very strong feelings for the car, but I would like I betrayed it or something. It's one thing get rid of it and sell it away, but I would feel guilty that I didn't even give it the common courtesy of finding a good home for it to go to. It's like if you're moving into an apartment that doesn't allow pets, so you have to give your dog away, and you give it to your neighbor who neglects and mistreats it. It doesn't deserve that.

2ndGen.rocket you should just remember the good times you had with your FC and remember that deep down under the metal spoiler and ghetto chrome rims resides your FC, the one you will always love...and the one you will never have back.....=_(

I feel sad for you. I know how you feel as I came very close to selling one of my rex's. Advertised it and all and when the first buyer came to take a test drive I couldn't go through with it. These cars become a part of you... at least for me having put so much time and work towards their well-being. I would equate your situation to allowing my kids to water-color over the Mona Lisa. What a way to ruin a beautiful piece of engineering.

thanks guys. Its not that I really WANTED to sell the car. I was madly in love with that thing, and I can't wait to own another one again. Its just that I live in the armpit of Upstate New York, where the winters are horrible. I needed something that was 4 wheel drive and reliable. It was just getting too hard to put my FC up for the winter and then drive a piece of **** beater that broke down every other week. And the FC was hitting the 120,000 mile mark, and I know some sort of rebuild was probably coming soon. It was all just getting too expensive for me, with insurance and school and everything else. I had to sell the car more out of necessity than anything else. I got a good deal on this new truck, it only has like 13,000 miles on it, and its great on gas even though its got a decent sized engine.
Trust me, selling the FC was like getting divorced. I've almost done it about 3 times before in past years, but I just couldn't go through with it because I loved the car too much. It wasnt really a spur of the moment thing. Trust me, Ill be around here though. The FC was the first car ive ever owned, and I can guarantee you that Ill have an FD soon, when im out of school working at least. Im hooked on 7's, Im fully convinced that they are one of the greatest sports cars ever, and getting another one is at the very top of my list.
BTW......i liked the ideas alot...haha. Im thinking about just going to the kids house at night, taking the wing off, and putting the other wheels back on. Then sending him a bill in the mail for labor charges afterwards.
