S5T2 stalls within seconds
S5T2 stalls within seconds
Hi guys, I finally got my turbocharger together and back on the engine but I can't get the engine to run more than a few seconds.
I checked the AFM and the resistance values look good.
I jumper-ed the fuel pump test connector, pump runs but no help there.
I checked for vacuum leaks, none found.
I took the turbo off because it smoked but the engine ran good before hand.
Any ideas??????????????
thanks

Found the problem. Everybody should like this: It was out of gas. Really, there was just enough in the bottom of the tank to get it to fire up but not enough to keep it running.
I can't take all of the credit for this one. I had two guys helping me figure out why it would not start. One was a certified mechanic (Ford but not rotary) and the other guy has been working on his 7 for years.

lol, gotta smack forehead for that one.
but it happens to everyone at times. i once started ripping apart my fuel system once when my car stalled at a light. granted my gas gauge sucked and never registered anything below 1/4 tank for as long as i could remember due to the car having over 200k miles on it. i just wasn't paying attention and it was pushing fuel, just not very much.

The good thing is that the smoking is gone now. When I first fired it up and after it warmed up a bit, it started smoking like it did before I rebuilt the turbo but after a few minutes, the smoke was gone. It was just burning off the assembly lube and oil.
