S5 won't turn over after fender bender

My 1990 S5 GXL was in an accident on sunday, the right front corner of the car all smashed up:

I removed all the broken pieces: the right fender, bumper, right blinker, right fog light, right headlight and retractor, windshield washer resevior.
I left all the connectors for everything i removed unplugged.

I tried turning the key, and the engine wont turn over.
-When I turn the key, it makes a click sound, and all the interior lights dim.
-Ive tried jumping the battery with another running car, with same result.
-The engine will turn over when the car is pushed while in gear (but i have not tried push-starting it)
-I checked the wiring to the starter - looks good to me
-Checked teh fuses near under the dash and next to the front left strut - all look good.

More info that may or may not be related:
-The engine was running after the accident, but i shut it off a few seconds after the impact.
-After towing it to my house, it started making a rapid clicking sound coming from the bumper area. I unplugged the battery while i took all the broken pieces off. After everything was back together, and the battery back in, I havent heard the clicking at all.

Any ideas?

check your grounds and your power leads to the battery, possible that your silinoid got screwed up or your batery may have suffered from the impact too.
