S5 wiring nightmere- Pictures and questions

I have a 1991 Mazda RX7 with a Jspec Turbo II motor swapped in. I believe the wiring harness is US spec, it is in rough shape to say the least. The vehical had a SAFC hacked into the harness then removed, the harness is also very brittle in places and has been repaired before. I am going though and soldering and heatshrinking all the repairs.

The only question I have right now is where does this ground loop connect? It was taped off. Also where does the other single sheilded wire go?
The second and thrid are just to show what I am dealing with . Thanks!

those wires go by the TB. the big clip is the TPS, little one is the air temp sensor in the TB, and the ground loop bolts to the stock IC bracket. shelded one connects to a round white thing. kinda looks like a fuse. no idea where it goes from there.

I suggest that you remove the brittle covering, go over the wires with wax/adhesive remover and rewrap with silicone non-adhesive tape and convoluted tubing. While you're at it, replace any connectors that appear corroded with new eones.

I have already striped the harness the rest of the way and replaced any damaged connectors .

However this is exactly what I need to know where it goes.

The o2 sensor wire is located on a different part of the harness.... its been replaced and in good shape.

There is another ground loop that conencts to the block, where the intercooler support bracket bolts too, for the injector ground I believe. I have no idea what this ground loop or sheilded wire goes too.

Question!
There is one connector that I have NO idea where it goes. It is not on my S4 or in the FSM from what I can find.

This connector is a black wire, single female spade with yellow casing. It comes out right with the ringed' black ground wires that attach to the block with the intercooler support. What does it go to? It was not connected when I removed it from the car.

hard to see in the picture, what guage is the wire? and it's solid black?? Not covered???

It looks like either a ground or the oil pressure sender condensor, but again it hard to tell with the picture and the washed out flash.

these are the 2 best pics I could find

this one you can see the 4 wires pluged in from the first post. (except the ground goes to the TB cause I have no bracket)

this one you can see the ground wire from the 2nd part of your thread on the block (I think that would be it) but I don't see that other connecter. might be hidden.

it's raining way to hard outside for me to go look.

Awsome guys,
I will try to take a better picture.

One more question,
Scott, in both pictures you show I see a single white 14guage or so wire. It comes from the alternator. Where does it go??? Its laying on the engine right now not going anywhere.

it's not stock. it goes to an aftermarket water temp gauge sender in the water pump.

Well I assembled it without the known location of the white wire and nothing.

No spark, pleanty of fuel. I will connect a spare CAS tommorow and try the different ECU's and see if I cant fingure out why its not working. All the grounds are in place. What scares me is I found the last owner used a EXTENSION CORD to wire up the tranny.....

omg... an extension cord? lol... factory drivability right there for you... doesn't get any better than that. :P obviously that wasn't a performance part that was advertised in the ad when I bought the car :P
