s5 vs. s6 alternator(internal parts)

Hey.. I have a little problem.. i installed a stereo system and i need a bigger alternator. can i use the s5 alternator housing and put in the s6 internals such as the rectifier, regulator, brushes, pulley...etc...whatevers required to make it a full s6 alternator..

Im asking becuase we dont have many wrecked s6 rx7's and buddy has alternator shop so things work out.. i can get parts real cheap right from nippidenso at discount price.

thanks guys

I put a whole FD alternator on my car. You just have to find a pulley from another car that has the same shaft size but doesn't use the "ribbed" belt like the FD. Go to my website for details: www.geocities.com/rx7_ragtop

It's the extra windings that produce the extra output, not the bolt-on bits. A s/h S6 alternator shouldn't be too hard to track down.

Well im down to 2 options..either i run down to the electronics parts store and have them give me all the s6 partsall being nippidenso of course, includes everyting required to build a full s6 alternator or find a used one and rebuild it..cant afford a brand new one.

and just for my understanding, what pulley and spacer do i use with the s6 alternator?like does anyone have part numbers for the spacer and pulley i need to use on the s6?

thanks..
