S5 vs. S4 question....

Will all the interior out of a s5 car fit a s4 car? Reason I ask is cuz I'm wanting to change my interior color, and I found a 90 gtu with black interior. I noticed the gtu does have the power seatbelts and manual windows, but other then that everything else looks close to the same.......

parts will, parts won't

Headliner wont
A, B and C pillar trim wont
Carpet will have holes in different spots
Center consol fits, but has a much smaller glove box section

what is the difference between the s4 and s5 headliners as to why they won't work?

the S5 headliners are shorter on the sides so that the mouse belts can run. If you put a S4 headliner in, it would rest against/on the mouse belts.

well to continue what icemark said, you will have gaps in the headliner, since s5 is shorter and also with the other pieces it might leave gaps or not fit as well. its about 75 to 80 the same (i guess owned both) but did no swapping between the two. also with the carpet and headliner, i would buy new ones since not matter what they will be at least 16 years old. so might have stains, or smells that wont come out. I know money talks when it comes to this, so i hope the helps.

Yes, Canadian S5 models didn;t have mouse belts, so they are interchangeable

Wow, this thread is handy. I just asked this 2 days ago and didn't get any answers. Now I won't have to pull mine back up.

GTUs's didn't have electric belts nor did 10AE's so their headliners will fit. It'll be tough to find so just have your S4 headliner recovered. That's what I did.

The carpet does have holes in different places but most will not be noticeable when you have the entire interior back together.

Another thing to keep in mind if your a freak about weight saving is the S4 dash frame is lighter than the s5 and the s4 glove box doors have less reinforcement making them lighter as well.

I've swapped interior on 4 cars s4's to s5's. Dash and all.

All US spec S5 coupes had mouse belts including the GTUs.

Of the US spec models, only the 10thAE had a black interior and headliner that would fit a non mouse belt equipped FC.

search button must be broke again

The door panels are sort of interchangeable. The speakers are in the wrong spot. Other than that they interchange.
