S5 Vert question.
Correct me if I am wrong, but with the key to the "on" position, shouldnt you be able to hear the BAC cycling?
Thanks in advance

Reason I ask, is I have a 91 vert that has the famous idle problem. On my TII, the BAC is loud enough to hear, on this car, iyou cant hear anything.
And the car runs the same with or without the BAC plugged in.

you dont technically hear the BAC cycling. its just a solonid and its either open or closed and that happens with just a click, and i do believe the engine has to be running with an electrical load for it to come on. all it does is give some bypass air to raise the idle when an electrical load is put on the engine.
if you have the idle prob, check your tps and try grounding you engine, there are a million threads about regrounding engine and all were recently posted.
if you think your BAC is bad, there are 2 tests to run on it. connect 12V to the 2 leads where it plugs in. you should hear a click. then check the ohms. it should be between 10.7 - 12.3 ohms resistance. if those 2 tests are ok, then the bac is good.
you might also want to test/replace your water thermosensor. if this is bad it will also effect idle

I can hear it cycling if I get really close to it.
Thermosensor? Good idea! I kinda spaced that one.
