S5 Turbo Throttle Body Question

I have two s5 turbo throttle body.

My first one had springs next to where the throttle body cable would go. However, I took my throttle body out of the car because the springs were loose. In an attempt to try and fix it, I ended up buying another one from a member here.

The second one came today and it doesn't have the springs next to where the throttle cable would go. My first one is similar, but without the dashpot removed.

Anyways, I was wondering if I can still use it without any problems even if the springs aren't there. See picture:

The springs essentially preload the setup so there's no "shock". They're very weak springs, so I can't imagine them being totally vital, but I would make an effort to swap them over.
