S5 turbo, S4 eng, 3" exhuast and inlet........What boost will this run.....

hi,

i statrt a post a month or so back when i had my 3" exhaust installed asking if there was a way to limit boost, an i had pland to pull off my turbo a week or so after "my little incident" and port the wastegate but as it happened, the turbo blew first.

now, to avoid this problem again please help me

I have a 3" inlet and exhaust and a pod filter and with my standard s4 turbo i was running an unhealthy 13-14psi in 3rd-5th and this casued my turbo to **** its self.
now luckily my eng is fine and ive got my hands on a S5 turbo and manifold in good nick for a gd price.

HOW MUCH BOOST WILL THIS SET UP RUN????? do i need to port the S5 wastegate??? it is much bigger than a S4, infact more than twice as big as the there are two wastegate ports and the smallest one is bigger than the S4

please help, this transplant must have happend numerous times in many peoples 2nd gen car builds

i want to know so i can port it if i need to before i put it back on,
i want to run 9-10 psi

Dude your lucky you didn't pop your motor, get a compression test incase, but you should be alright with the stock S5 turbo, from what i hear the S5 turbo is much better at preventing boost creep.

I have S4 stock port engine, S5 turbo with ported wastegate, with racingbeat exhaust, and the boost is about 9-10 psi and has boost creep in 3rd through 5th. Not sure how well the wastegate was ported, it was just how the car came

hey port the hell out of the wastegate while its out of the car it will keep you from having to re pull when you boost creep. It wont keep you from boosting the stock setting. but will prevent creep later down the road.
