S5 TURBO fenders

S5 Turbo. My front driver fender is fudged.
BUT, I still have the plastic 'ground effects' trim that clips onto the lower rear piece of the fender.

Has anyone replaced an S5-Turbo fender with an S5-NA fender?
I have read that the only difference is the 'ground effects' mounting clip holes (which can be drilled out). A post from Icemark had said the fenders were totally different part numbers.

Anyone have any words of wisdom??

It should be fine. The only issues I believe are in the mounting of the side skirt. A little ingenuity will solve that problem.

I used an S4 fender in my old n/a S5. I currently have another S4 fender hanging on my S5 TII.

That's good to hear. When I searched around a bit I actually found an older post of yours regarding the subject but I wasn't quite sure it pertained to TIIs. Just needed the reassurance.

Thanks for the reply, Jerry

S5 fenders are all shaped the same. As you noted, the s5 turbo fender has the extra hole for the mounting pin in the middle of the lower area. You can just drill that hole out and any others that you find missing.

The s4 fenders can also work and are nearly identical to s5's. The s5 fender sweeps in behind the front wheel about half an inch more than the s4 does, which stops short.

the turbo does have a different part number, but its only the 1 hole for the ground effects.

FC fenders are crazy expensive new, $450 retail, which is double what an FD fender costs

That's because FD fenders are mostly paint with a thin metal shell.

I sell used FC fenders for $75 plus actual shipping (usually that much again) if anyone needs.

i also have an S4 fender on my S5 GXL, almost no noticable difference besides the trim mounts which are nonexistent on the S4 and taped to the fenders versus clipped. S5 trim can be double sided taped or match the holes and ream out new ones.

Thanks for clearing that up, everybody.
I'm arranging to buy a s5 GXL fender from another member on here.
I'll post results/pics for anyone who might be doing an NA fender replacement.
