He said 2,500 but I'm thinking 1,800.00. I have a clean 90 vert I will sell and get it.

If he's got a full Turbo II conversion done (fuel pump, drivetrain, transmission, engine, ECU, etc..) then it's worth probably $1500-$2500 above the stock blackbook (street) value.

For a stock 1989 Convertible (non turbo), 100K miles, red or white, good top, good steats, good leather, no water damage, high compression engine, everything works, underside is not soaked in oil, overall good - excellent condition - probably $4500-$6500. I'd add $200-$500 for rarer colors like medium blue, dark blue, silver, black, etc.. Subtract $1000 for an automatic.

On the damaged top, I'd price a top repair with several shops and factor that in the final price. You can try to factor in a blown engine too, but you'll never get $4,000 to professionally replace the engien since you can DIY for like 1/4 of that price.

It's worth 2.5k in my opinion. Even for just the S5 TII components...

I would think in the range of stock value plus $500 at most. If the engine's on it's way out, that would drop the overall value even more.

Ok just got back from the guys house. The car is a S5 5 speed vert, Installed is a S5 TII jspec that is blown, fmic, original tranny and diff (not a TII tranny/diff). He has a centerforce TII brand new clutch in the trunk. he also has 3rd Gen Alternator with V grooved pulley installed. And a Knight Sports Chip, not installed. Is this thing worth 1700.00 ? that's the lowest he said he would do... Also the rear top has to be replaced..

it wouldn't be worthless at all. if he's smart he would get a tii tranny... or he could always sell it.

I meant at the time of purchase. It'll be like getting a BOV with my SE and being told it'll be ok once I get a turbo.

still hardly worthless. if a turbo's planned for the future, why not? if not, sell the bov. all i'm saying is that i wouldn't turn down a brand new clutch if it's included. i see what you're saying, but i don't think worthless is the right word.

the shop that installed the TII engine told him they installed a TII tranny. So he bought a new clutch for it.. It's still in the trunk.. Should I get it and rebuild the engine? Also the rear top needs relaced.. how much is that going to cost me? On the tranny issue can't i just run a S5 N/A flywheel till i get a TII tranny installed?
