I have the RTek 1.8 on my S5 Tii vert.

They installed it quickly and turned it right around.

I have 720s in the primary and 1000 in the secondaries. I also have Pineapple porting, RP down and mid pipes, Bonez cat, and Corksport catback.

I am pretty lean so have been using the SAFC to richen it up. You can see my journey in the "19 AFR" thread. I have a Zeitronix WB and Boost sensor.

I'm happy with it. Wish the 2.0 was already out.

1.7 is junk. might as well go 2.0, because you would have to run a safc anyway and the cost of both equals the price of the 2.0. there is no advantage running the 1.7 unless you had 720s in there for no reason other than hoping to richen the mixture above 3500. the rtek is very nice, but it's not like a f-con where it will add more fuel for more boost.

The 2.0 isn't out yet for the S5 TII. The SAFC setup really sucks but its the only choice other than spending $500+ on an EMS.

no 2.0 yet and im not going for lots of horsepower with this car, just getting rid of fuel cut and richen it up a bit so i can run 10lbs of boost. my last car had a haltech and hybrid and now i just want a good daily that i can take to drift events and drive home.

The 1.7 is perfect if you're running the stock turbo. Unless you go w/ a hybrid or a full conversion, you don't need anything more.

Buy it.

i guess on the 720s i just buy whatever impedance and wire in the resistor, never see 720 high impedance or the 720s with a plug from a series 5.

This seller claims to have direct drop in 720s for S5s. I'm curious as to whether he is aware of the high/low impedence issue though, the S4/S5 auctions don't look different at all.

hkp,

From what I gathered in my research the type of injector (high impedance - saturated) in the S5 dont really go beyond something like 550cc efficiently, that's why you see all the bigger ones in the low impedance style. I thought about going the high impedance route (with these) like the ones pointed out on eBay but I worried about the efficiency issue. It struck me that if high impedance saturated injectors scaled past 600ccs then you'd see a lot of em, but you dont. Must be a reason.

I went with GReddy 720s in the primary and RC 1000s in the secondaries. They are all low impedance so I had to put resistors in the injector wires coming out of the ECU. It's no big deal. Couple of hours cutting and soldering.

You might check my thread here. Of special note for you on the second page I have a picture of how I wired in and mounted the 6ohm resistors. As long as you do one wire at a time its no big deal.

Good luck with your project.

btw, if you're going to mess with your fueling system, I strongly recommend getting a Zeitronix w/b. The seals you save may be your own.
