Ive been trying to wire my aftermarket radio to my RX-7 for 5 hours so far. Ive been lost/stuck since every wiring diagram Ive found online doesnt have all the colors that my FC has. I also dont know which wires are for the front or rear speakers.
I tried looking at the diagram in my haynes manual but I cant follow that at all.

My wire colors are:

Brown/White
Brown
Brown/Red
Blue
Blue/Brown
Blue/Black
Blue/Yellow
Blue/White
Blue/Red
Yellow/Green
Yellow/Blue
Green/Red
Green/Blue
Red
Red/Black

 

they make adapters that you can buy for about 10 bucks or so that do this for you. all you have to do is connect it to your aftermarket radio and then plug it in. Wire colors for adapter should match those coming out of your new radio

 

Well this is the first time Ive heard of these adapters. I believe Ive made my job much harder since I took out the factory connectors which were previously cut and rewired. If I get the adapter Ill have to rewire the connectors back. But then theres where Ill run into the problem with figuring out which wires are for the front and rear.

 

Sounds like you're up a brown smelly creek

Look at section 15 in the FSM. It has the diagram of your wires and colors

Or you could solder your old connector back on and match the colors. (might be able to see if someone else has connectors on here if you already threw them away, ask for extra wire length if you do...)

Thanks this should help. I keep all the original things from my RX-7s. Never know when Ill have use for them down the road.

Now hopefully I can complete this wiring.
