S5 TII Brake Booster Source!

I am trying to find a remanufactured power brake unit (booster) for my 91 TII.

Mazda wants almost 600$ for a new one.

Victoria British suposedly had them (reman) but what they list for the car is not the right part. I had one shipped to me and it is different than the factory one. I do not know if it will work, If I try it I cant return it.

Most of the parts stores list a non turbo part number but not one for a turbo car.

Can the turbo aka ABS master cylinder be used on a non-turbo brake booster?

Anyone have a source for a remanufactured S5 ABS (turbo) brake booster.

Do any of the GURUs know if the master cyl and/or brake boosters are interchangable between the ABS and non ABS S5 cars?

I realize the power asist may be different. I just want to know if they will work and fit.

I think I have heard of people using N/A master cyl on the ABS (turbo) brake boosters.

I would be doing the reverse.

I'd just find a good used one - they should be a dime a dozen.

The ABS cars do have a different brake booster - it's "fatter".

Why do you need a new one? They rarely fail.

I had Hard pedal and weird feel at random times. The it would take a lot of pedal effort to get it to stop and the ABS pump would run at random times when braking even though the wheels werent anywhere near the limit of adhesion.

The master cyl was leaking from the back too and when I pulled it off the litttle rod woobled around in there big time. Plus the car acted like it had a vacume leak.

i have just converted my 90 tii from abs brakes to non abs brakes. (i had a parts car with all the non abs stuff i needed. the master cylinder and the brake boost are both different. (pretty sure they will not interchange ie. you cant use a non abs master cylinder with an abs booster) the proportioning valve looks to be the same though.

I already have a new turbo master cyl (ABS). That's why I am trying to figure out If i can use this one or not, I bought it from mazdatrix and with thier return policy I'll lose money If I try to return it.

I realize they are both different between ABS & non ABS. But I thought at one point I had read that people have mounted a non-ABS MC onto an ABS brake booster. Could be wrong though.
