S5 TII Aero Kit

Is there any data on what the aero kit did for the TII's drag/down force?

I looked through the FAQ and the other sticky up top and did not find data or claims only part numbers.

The S5 kit was just for looks, and had the same drag as the standard RX-7 with spoiler (.319 Cd).

I think it was 148 vs 156MPH top speed with area kit on the NA. Could be wrong on that.

156mph top speed for an NA is way way too high. That's higher than stock TII's are getting by a long shot.

Pretty sure the n/a's go 150. I know I've had my needle there.

IIRC Mazda quoted 137 for a stock S4 n/a back in the day as the top speed.

Yep..and it took about a year and a half to get there
Stock T2 top speed was closer to 150 (I want to say 148..). Extensive mods will be needed to push a N/A to 150.

just because you've seen your needle there doesn't mean you were actually travelling that speed. Most car speedometer's are terribly inaccurate at high speeds. There could be a 20mph difference in actual speed and indicated at 140mph.

I was able to get most of the aero parts from Mazdasurplus for only $35 each... radically cheaper than the dealer who wants $200+ for each part.
