s5 tails not fitting

I have installed a set of s5 tails on my s4. I have modified it for the reverse lights to clear and trimmed my license plate frame. now the passenger side tail fits really well, lining up nicely with the body but the driver side tail sticks out about a 1/4 inch from the body even when i've pushed it as tight to the body as it will go. Anyone ever run into this issue when swapping lights?

I just noticed that mine do too. Never really thought about it but I'd be interested in your solution if you find one.

I had that problem...its just getting hung up... you gotta keep working it gently until it snaps in all the way. Just bearly fit the screws on then keep wiggeling it.

The car may have been tweaked in the past or simply through natural movement, the holes no longer totally line up. Carefully push the light in and find out where it is binding, then file the hole appropriately.

God..nobody will tell this guy??
there is a piece of metal ON the car that needs to be Cut to put the S5 tails IN.
Do this for me:Go to the car. With the S4 Tails OUT.put the s5 Tail UP to the Hole..you will notice in the MIDDLE of the Taillight holes that a Small EDGE of metal will need to be either BENT back or Cut out,so that the light bulb holder will allow the whole tail light assembly To sit in there flush.
NOTE: the bulb harness on an S4 IS Slightly Different,BUT it can be used in a pinch...I found ONE bulb holder is a Touch different and is a Bitch to get in/on..but it will go on.The S5 harnesses Fit the S4 Car No problemo(and also of course, fit the tails!!)..

well, my S5 tails line up perfectly. i bent the metal piece that was supposely in the way, i followed Aaron's write up. but this time instead of cutting the license plate holder, i jst removed the whole thing. i thought it made it look better without it.

They will fit. the s4 cars gotta bend the Metel in. The s5 tails almost go in but at the last one inch it will hit the metal backing of the frame. Bend it in. The S5s will fit...

DONT CUT ANYTHING!!! Just BEND the Metel in By HAND. It will fit Fine. sheesh
