I was searching through ebay and found this "kit" to make S4 tails look similar to S5s. I initially thought this was tacky, but after thinking about it I could do something similar, but make the circles centered better and slightly larger. I have a spare set I am going to experiment with so tell me what you think. And if the need so strikes you, flame away.

IMHO i think that ebay tail light kit is tacky, i rather keep the S4 the way they are or paint them to match the color of your car like the 10AE lights.

 

It's lame. And it's advertised as "JDM Look"...

 

waste of money, just get s5 lights if you hate the s4s so much

 

nothing beats the s5 lights.

Well, that conversion is creative and all.. props for that.. .but, its ugly. And its not legal. It doesn't have the rear reflectors that th stock ones do.

 

The R32 lights are ugly and so are those ebay lights. You know what it saids when i see them? "POS wannabe".

 

i think these look cool. black and white tail lights. i really like them but i have no idea where they came from or how they were made

i say just paint em like a 10th ae, itll look alot better than what ebay can give you, plus those a stickers basically.

That is pimp eriksseven... def the best s5 look so far. if you could get some of those led (like the ones on the G35) then you'd be the tru tail lite pimp.

 

and the vinyl modifying/blocking the tails is illegal in most states.

I think I just had a rotorgasm. Good looking car... Not a fan of the *modernized* tail lights though.. But damn... I totally just blew an apex seal all over it.

 

Haha. Most people say that, then realize that it looks better than stock. Your average s5 light doesn't look that good. Most are faded and scuffed with age anyways.

Two days ago I installed a set for a customer on their white Turbo II and it looked soooooo good. It reminded me of my old car.

 

S5s look great if people take the time to re-polish them. most people just don't realize how easy and simple it is to polish the plastic they are made of, like the FTPs for example can look like glass after a good westand and some buffing.

Yep! Same with the FTP lenses, and all of the markers.. I use turtle wax products (rubbing compound, polish, etc) and a mequiars mini-ball.. makes everything look brand spankin new. I prefer my diffusers, but part of me likes the modernized crap... I just don't like seeing the bulb. Too "altezza-esque".

 

Thanks for all the feedback guys. I guess initial impressions are right. Oh and thanks for the heads up on the legality of covering the taillights like that. What I intended to do was mask off the lights and cut a circle into the masking tape and paint the lights, but that probably wouldn't look much better than the vinyl.

Guess I will just have to wait and find a set of S5 tails.
