Question s5 t2/na swap

ive already asked a few questions about my t2 to na swap(dont ask,search it)....but i want to know it the axels are t he same,i know t he lengths are diffrent,but i meant whare the axel goes int othe the hub...are those the same,splines/thickness etc.


any help is appreciated

no... the complete driveline is different.

wait, your taking a t2 and converting it to a non turbo?

why do you even want to change if thats the case?

i have a t2 shell with the subframe/diff/axels all in it still...and i have a na with a brand new engine in it thats totaled....


cant waste a perfectly good engine



well i could,id just be an idiot




so i gotta change out the hubs and crap too?

you could go to mazdatrix and get an axle that fits the t2 diff and the na trans.

Thats the drive shaft he is talking about were the half shafts go into the hubs were the wheels are. As far as I know they are the same, I have never heard this question asked before.

ya,ill prtobably just bring it to a driveshaft shop


ok,does anyone know if the subframes are identical between the two models?

Subframes and hubs are the same for N/A and Turbo. The hub bearings are the same for all '86/'92, as most all all the bushings, bolts, etc.

so i can take out the T2 diff,put the NA one in,put the NA axels in and im good to go (clearly shortened)???



just want this to be clear for me before i buy something i dont need
