S5 T2 motor in S4 T2 chassis swap

i have an 88 turbo 2 and i'll be doing an s5 swap soon.
i have a 91 turbo 2 motor, tranny, harness, and ecu;
i also will get the s5 boost sensor and AFM.
i know i will have to rewire the harness that plugs into the far left on the ecu to fit the s5 ecu.
is there anything else i have to rewire? and how hard is it?

thanks in advance

Toss all the S5 stuff, and reuse all the original(S4) wiring, injectors, afm, ecu, front cover, OMP, etc.. so pretty much you're only gonna be using the S5 block, turbo, & manifolds.

Yeah use the Same series electronics unless you want to do a whole wiring over haul/rewiring.

You'll need the ECU harness and narrow range TPS of the S4.

The Boost solenoid on the S5 engine will be useless so remove that extra crap.(solenoid located next to oil tube/hard lines go to turbo waste gate)

Well get the Factory Service manual from FC3S.org and start comparing.

The electronics are completely different.

You will need to pretty much do a lot of rewiring to the interior harness to make it connect to a S5 ECU and EFI harness.

Your almost better off getting a S5 interior harness and redoing to whole car.

i was thinking about getting the interior harness as well. i was just wondering about the harness on the driver's side of the engine bay that plugs into the alternator, is that part of the interior wiring harness or different one?

fc3s.org doesn't have the wiring diagram for the s5, it only has it for the s4, do you know where i can find it?

It's there.
http://www.fc3s.org/how_tos/manuals/89_fsm.html

I believe there are 2 harnesses. The EFI one which has the injectors and ECU and then there is the main harness. Which goes to the headlights/taillights/interior lighting/guage cluster/sunroof/fuel pump....

If you do this then you'll be removing the Dash and all interior panels to get at the wires.

Digi7ech: question.
i've been thinking, and i probably might just get the s5 shortblock and keep all my s4 stuff... would i have any problems with the s4 ecu working with the s5 block? since the s5 motor runs a higher compression, and the s4 ecu is set for a lower compression???
thanks in advance
