S5 T2 full HKS Exhaust - What fuel upgrades?
I know about ZERO about fuel upgrades for TurboII's. But locally, this guy is selling a HKS turbo-back exhaust and my cats are clogged. Obviously I don't want to spend $$ on something that's WORTHLESS to me (like cats).
However, I understand that this is going to raise the boost beyond "safe" factory limits. This means I will need....
(this is where you insert the recommended setup you've got, I'm looking to NOT spend a whole lot of money, and I REALLY would rather not yank off the upper intake manifold to change the injectors, unless it's going to save me LOTS of cash. I'm thinking staying short of a full blown computer, like maybe going with an S-AFC or something? What do yous guyses think?) EVERYTHING you think I'll need with a full exhaust, and might as well compensate for a 3" intake too, I'll do that eventually.

STart with a cheap fuel cut defenser. That should do it. If you run more boost it would not hurt to get 680cc or 720cc injectors in your secondaries with a AFC.

the AFC just modifies the amount of air the ECU *thinks* it's getting, so it adds more fuel, correct? It acts on the AFM side, not on the fuel injector side, correct? If this is the case, then why is it necessary? Won't the AFM be just fine for sending the correct signal by itself? More air IS travelling past it, and it should tell the ECU the correct value still, so why do I need to have something else to fool the ECU into thinking there's even more air?

What I was suggesting is to get larger injectors and then use the AFC to cut the fuel back where you need. The S-AFC sucks for adding fuel but is great for taking it away.

get yourself a high flow fuel pump as well. your engine will need more fuel now and you'll need to be able to supply it properly. changing the filter wouldn't hurt either. it's probably pretty well clogged right now.

Yep, thats true. I've got a fuel pump & FCD for my DP/MP/Intake. I just bought some 680cc injectors as well that will be good for anything the stock turbo can put out hopefully.

Now, on this subject, will changing the fuel pump out for another pump that'll make more flow AND pressure (adding fuel pressure) make up for the lack of injector size, to add enough fuel for a turbo-back exhaust? Coupled with a FCD of course.
