s5 Specific, seatbelts

Does anybody have a problem with their S5 automatic seatbelt motors or tracks?

If so, send me an email...

Convert those POS mouse type seat belts to ol-school s4 (86-88) standard belts....... Just don't tell your insurance company, cause you get a disscount for passive belts.. at least I do

will they fix them if they are just really slow and make a painful move toward their extremes?

If you have enough time and money anything can be done, but, with the tracks, motors, different console, wiring, etc. it doesn't make any sense.

Woah, lifetime warantee eh?

Interesting, The motors blew in mine, and one of the rails/cables snapped and I just static'd them in the farthest back I could and bought a set of 5 point harnesses. I guess if they are under warantee...

Not only that, it was recalled by the NHTSA. Seatbelts that jam up are a huge safety hazard.

My driver's side belt does not work. I took it to Mazda and he said it was just the switch was wet. He dried it out, worked for about a week. Stopped working again, couldn't even turn it back to the farthest position without some impressive brute force (which leads me to believe the track is faulty again). Called Mazda again and they said "Oh, well I spent three hours taking it apart, so if you bring it back again I'm going to charge you."

That was almost two years ago. I haven't bothered calling Mazda's customer service, but I think I will sometime in the near future. It's such a hassle having to fasten two buckles. It'd be nice to have it work again as well.
