Question S5-S4 Power harness SAME or DIFFERENT

I was wondering if the s4 and s5 power harness were the same? To clarify, I'm talking about the harness that is on the passangerside, and it plugs into the main harness with 4 plugs. It has the starter, alternator, oil pressure sensor, crank angle sensor, water temp sensor, and so on.

Also while where on the subject. What are the difference in any of the wire harnesses between the s4 and the s5?

Whats different. If its a bunch, I'm not going to ask for you to go into detail. But is it as simple as just different style plugs? Or maybe the wires are different colors?

And remember I'm just talking about the little harness on the drivers side.

The S4/5 are radically different. Forget it.

And by the way, at first you say it's on the passenger side then later the drivers side?????

Matters not. They are too different for you to swap out. See and compared the plugs/wire arrangement in the S4/5 in the FSM's wiring diagrams. The diagrams are free and online for a free download to compare. See the FAQ thread for where to logon to download.

Oops, I really mean the driver side. But not the whole headlight harness. Just the power harness.

I know this is kind of confirmed in this thread but I just need to make sure. I would like one solid answer one way.

Some guy sold me a S5 TII starter and alternator and told me it would work on my S4 TII. Now I see that the connection on the back of the S5 alt is different from the one on my S4 (which btw I am not sure if it is a TII alt because it was throwing sparks like fireballs and i had to disconnect the bolts on the intercooler because it was touching it. Which is why I am replacing it in the first place.)

The point:

-If I modify the alt wire clip will it work?

-Will the starter hook up ok?

Thank you and God Bless,
Zach
