its not unheard of that people change the steering wheel over because early day airbags are dangerous, i have mine completely turned off, i plan on getting a different wheel too, when the time comes

he is confusing US models with Canadian Models.

The 90-92 US spec convertibles had airbag steering wheels.

no, the Canadian government didn't mandate passive restraints in 1990 as the US did.

I guess the Canadian government thought that you guys were smart enough to use seat belts, while the yanks were too dumb to use them.

Frankly consider yourself lucky not to have an explosive combustible device that often does more harm than good on your car.

Are there any reports of the 90-92 US spec vert airbags hurting people? Is it worth removing mine?

rotary_gx7, Nice ride. Did you recover the seats? I think they would look better in blue and black instead of blue and white. Blue and black would match the car color scheme much better.

Welcome to the Vert club!

I have not personally heard of any on the verts, but remember that the feds mandated a change to the new softer kinder air bags in the mid 90's because so many people were getting hurt off the older style like that are found on the FC and FD.
