A good way to tell if it is an S5 is if the MOP is electronic. If there is a small rod connected to the front throttle linkage than it is not a S5. The intake manifold is different on the S5s, but that does not always mean it is a S5 motor.

take a picture and post it, but if the engine and body numbers don't match to the build sheet, then chance are the engine has been swapped.

But you do know that from the factory, the VIN and the engine number are different, right???

"Build Sheet?" Now I'm curious, how do I find out what my engine number should have been?

It came with the papers of the owners manual, and lists the build parts serial numbers.

Most people throw it away when they bought the car because the didn't understand it. I have mine for my vert, but the one for my 10thAE is long gone.

Here is a bad scan of mine (so that I can post it on the servers online instead of my own online storage):

It contains every option and feature built into the car

Is there any other way to find out the information that was on this sheet?

I don't know, that is the only way I know of, but you might be able to contact Mazda (but I really doubt that they are going to have the records on such old cars as ours).
