S5 OMP removal ??

The long story:

I have a 89 T2. I am putting a rebuilt ported motor put in along with alot of other upgrades (BNR #3 turbo, Microtech, etc). I want to break the motor in before I put the microtech and larger secondaries in and get it tuned. I am planning on putting a S4 front housing on so I can get a mechanical OMP.

So how do I run the S5 ECU during break in without the S5 OMP ?

you can't...

well you can plug the S5 OMP into the harness and stuff it into the corner somewhere so the ECU thinks it's still hooked up.

i did this with a used omp when mine blew and i didn't feel like installing the newish one. works fine, just remember the premix and you're good to go.

I have a mechanical OMP on my S5. The electic one is still plugged in the harness and the pump is sitting outside the engine.

The engine should fire fine and run enough for a brake in with the stock Microtech maps. They're a little rich, but good enough...That seems like the most prudent thing to do.
